What is a domain transfer?
A domain transfer is the process of moving the management of your domain name from your current registrar to a new one (such as Giszo.com), or between different accounts within the same provider.
Are there any restrictions on when I can transfer my domain?
Most domains can be transferred at any time. However, per ICANN regulations, a domain generally cannot be transferred if it was registered or previously transferred within the last 60 days. Please note that certain domain extensions (TLDs) may be exempt from this 60-day lock.
What is an EPP or Authorization Code?
To initiate a transfer to Giszo.com, your current registrar requires a unique “EPP” or authorization code to verify the request. When prompted by your current provider, use the following code to identify us: WILDWEST.
Will a transfer affect my website’s uptime?
No. Your website and associated services will remain fully functional throughout the process. We do not modify your nameservers during the transfer, ensuring your online presence remains uninterrupted.
How much does it cost to transfer a domain to Giszo.com?
Domain transfers are available for a flat fee. For most common extensions, this fee includes a free one-year extension of your registration. Following that period, renewals are billed annually at the current retail rate for your specific domain extension.
Can I transfer a domain that has already expired?
Yes, transfers are usually possible after the expiration date, provided the domain is still within its grace period. However, if a domain has reached “Redemption” status, it can no longer be transferred and must be restored with the current registrar first.
Can I transfer multiple domains at once?
Absolutely. Our bulk transfer tool allows you to move up to 500 domains in a single request. Simply list each domain on a new line. Please ensure your domain extension is supported by our platform before initiating the bulk request.
How am I billed for domain maintenance?
Once your domain reaches its new expiration date, you will be billed annually to maintain ownership. The renewal cost will reflect the standard retail price applicable to your domain extension at that time.
Can I move a domain between two different Giszo.com accounts?
Yes. To move a domain to another Giszo.com user, navigate to your Domain Portfolio, select the Transfer menu, and follow the guided steps to complete the internal account change.
